Vasantha mullai tamil movie review

Vasantha Mullai, directed by Ramanan Purushothama, is a psychological thriller that explores the mind of an overworked IT employee suffering from a sleeping disorder. Bobby Simha's earnest performance as the protagonist is the driving force of the film, while Kashmira Pardeshi fits well in her role as his girlfriend. The mystery in the story holds attention well until the halfway point, after which the director tries to spin a web of confusion, leading to a simple payoff in the last act that falls short of expectations.

The director's attempt to tell the story with just two main characters is a win, but the film takes its own sweet time to take off, which might put off some audiences. The technical aspects, including the music, do not give the much-needed support. Despite these shortcomings, Vasantha Mullai is a fairly engaging thriller that plays mind games with the audience and offers a message sprinkled at the end.

Overall, the film has the ingredients to cook a delightful meal, but the director's dilemma in finding the right mix of ingredients for a thriller makes it fall short. Nevertheless, the initial promise of a debutant director is evident, and a little more conviction would have done the trick.
